  • Aging and Disability Resource Connection: Call and they'll connect you with the resource you need. 1-800-282-6612

  • Angel Flight: Free personal flights for medical needs, caregivers, domestic abuse, special camps, adoption, people who cannot afford commercial flights.

  • Georgia Gateway: Go to this website to get answers to questions about health and human services in the Georgia and apply for public assistance benefits such as Medicaid, Child Support Services, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Food Stamps, WIC, Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, and a variety of other public assistance benefits.

  • PCs for People: Computers for individuals and families that fall below 150% of the poverty line. Check website for listings.

  • Southwest Georgia Council on Aging: Services for people 60 years and older including meals, homemaker services, transportation, activities, legal services, and much more.

Food Assistance

  • Sowega Council on Aging Meal Programs: Group and home delivered meals (Meals on Wheels) for residents. Call 1-800-282-6612 to learn more on receiving meals.

  • Open Hand: Food assistance for children, seniors, and families, located in Atlanta.

 

Financial Assistance & Counseling​

  • AGPM Family Emergency Assistance Program: Rental and/or utility assistance is available or eligible residents in AGPM communities. Please contact us if you are in need of rental assistance in an AGPM community.

  • Emergency Payment Rental Assistance Program: For those at risk of eviction due to Covid-19 in Albany, you can apply at this website for rental assistance or call 211.

  • Southwest Georgia Community Action Council Emergency Services: Financial assistance due to loss of income. You can check eligibility and see the locations at the provided link or call 229-436-9022.

  • Southwest Georgia LIHEAP: Assistance with utility bills. You can check eligibility at website or call 229-436-9022 to apply. Households in which every member is 65 or older or homebound are given priority.

  • The Assistance Fund: Financial assistance programs for children and adults diagnosed with critical or chronic illnesses.
