Get to know Brooke
As Executive Director of The Tree House Foundation, Brooke Sammons leads and oversees all aspects of the organization's operations, programs, and development. Her passion for serving vulnerable individuals and communities drives her leadership, guiding teams to advocate for families and individuals through personal connection, organized resources, and fostering cultural shifts. Before joining The Tree House Foundation, Brooke played a pivotal role in the development of programs for nonprofit organizations dedicated to serving adult and child survivors of human trafficking throughout Orlando. She cultivated strategic partnerships with law enforcement, court representatives, social services, and key stakeholders to ensure collaboration across agencies for the best outcomes. Prior to her work in Orlando, Brooke was instrumental in establishing the first long-term restorative care program and safe house for trafficking survivors in North Florida. She recruited, trained, and led her team through the creation of daily routines, processes, case management practices, and compliance with guidelines and regulations. Her deep commitment to trauma-informed care and her expertise in serving populations affected by poverty, neglect, abuse, violence, exploitation, and substance misuse fueled her efforts to create educational programs, workshops, and a robust volunteer network. Brooke also contributed as a victim advocate and liaison between survivors and federal and state law enforcement, for which she was honored with the RISE Award from the Human Trafficking Task Force in January 2023. Before transitioning into the nonprofit sector, Brooke spent 10 years working in a high-profile private healthcare practice, where she oversaw patient care, business expansion, and practice development.
